Mitch Marner Looking Forward to Completely Disappearing in the Playoffs for a New Team Next Season

Coming off a 100-point season, Mitch Marner is reportedly ready to move on from being a part of the Maple Leafs. Despite having one of the best records in the league since 2018, the Leafs have failed to advance to the Conference Finals in every season. And for Marner, he’s ready to take his regular season only talents to a new destination.

“I feel like my time here in Toronto is over and I’m ready for what’s next,” said Marner on Friday. “The past few years were really fun except for the games in May, and sometimes April. I’ll never forget my time here no matter how much I want to. But now it’s time to go see what other team’s hopes I can raise and then fail to meet.”

The Leafs will be looking to fill the gap that Marner will be leaving by most likely acquiring another player with excellent stats and no clutch abilities. With his experience in not making it out of the second round, the Carolina Hurricanes are reportedly very interested as they see him as a perfect fit with their culture.
