Finals Game 7 Will Move Free Throw Line to Half Court to Curb Foul Baiting

In anticipation of the foul baiting plays both teams will make on Sunday night in Game 7, Adam Silver has announced that all free throws in the game will take place at half court. This move is also expected to get more casual fans to tune in as this has been one of the lowest viewed Finals in NBA history. While this is a result of 2 small market teams going head-to-head, one other major reason for people tuning out is the number of stoppages during the game.

“You used to be able to play a full minute before anything stopped the game,” Silver said in his press conference announcing the sudden rule change. “They used to let guys maul each other and have no fouls called. But this league has gotten too soft and that’s generally on me. So to make up for this, and to discourage flopping, all free throws Sunday Night will be taken at half court. Time to man up or shut up boys!”

OKC MVP and team leader Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was reportedly frustrated with the sudden change and has cussed out several staff members trying to calm him down. Tyrese Haliburton, on the other hand, simply smiled and shot the ugliest looking jumper ever and sank it like prime Steph Curry. The Thunder are still expected to win by 19 points.
