Tonight, Clayton Kershaw is expected to put the cherry on top of what is sure to be a first ballot Hall of Fame career. He is 3 strikeouts away from 3,000 in his career, and with his opponent being the White Sox he will likely get the achievement before the crowd has even left the parking lot. While this is a truly rare achievement in the game of baseball, Kershaw recently reflected on his stardom and seemed to acknowledge that it’s not all fantastic.
“I’m happy for the people that got me here, but I’m also very tired, like, all the time,” Kershaw said. “My arm hurts. I miss my family. The guys in the clubhouse bully me sometimes. We only won a championship because of a world killing disease and several hundred million dollars. It sucks playing baseball. I will make sure my children, and their children, never play.”
Despite the negative comments, Kershaw still shows up to work on time and is off to another great start in 2025. The Dodgers looked prime to repeat as world champions, even if Kershaw sits in the dugout wondering how many more moments with his kids he will continue to miss.
