MLB Announced Colorado Rockies Will Be Relegated, Las Vegas Aviators To Be Promoted

In a somewhat shocking but ultimately irrelevant development, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced that the Colorado Rockies would be demoted for the 2nd half of the 2025 season. In addition to this move, the first half winner of the AAA league Las Vegas Aviators will take their spot in the NL West, and will take on their schedule and current record.

“The baseball season is halfway over and it’s been pretty boring,” Manfred said in a press release Saturday. “I’m gonna spice things here and send the Rockies down, just because I think it will be funny. And since we still need 30 teams, we’ll send up the Aviators since they are the best team in AAA and more importantly also a west coast team. Win win for everybody!”

The Athletics will still be able to call up and send down players to the Aviators as they see fit. The Rockies will be kept in AAA until they win 5 games in a row. The rest of the NL West is upset at the move saying it is “lame as hell” to take away their guaranteed wins like that.
